Engagement

The challenge

RoomHawk had built a powerful AI pricing engine for hotels — analyzing demand signals, competitor rates, and booking patterns to recommend optimal room prices. But the frontend that revenue managers used daily was falling behind the sophistication of the engine underneath. They needed a complete UI redesign that could surface complex pricing intelligence in a way that hotel staff could act on quickly and confidently.

How we approached it

This was a frontend-only engagement. The backend and pricing engine were already solid — our job was to build the interface layer that made the intelligence accessible. We worked closely with revenue managers to understand their daily workflows: what data they check first thing in the morning, how they make pricing decisions, what signals trigger manual overrides of the AI recommendations.

The technical work

The pricing dashboard needed to render large datasets — rate comparisons across hundreds of room types and date ranges — without performance degradation. We built virtualized tables and charts that handle thousands of data points smoothly, with real-time updates as new demand signals flow in. The UI design focused on progressive disclosure: the most critical information (today's pricing recommendations, alerts on unusual demand patterns) is front and center, with drill-down capability for managers who want to understand the reasoning behind each recommendation.

Where it is today

The redesigned platform serves hotels with over 2 million rooms. Revenue managers use the dashboard daily to review and act on AI-generated pricing recommendations. The frontend refresh made the existing pricing engine significantly more usable — proving that great AI means nothing without a great interface.
